PROVO — A Santaquin man charged with paying a 16-year-old runaway girl, who had been working for him as a nanny, for sex has been sentenced to two years of probation.
Justin John Jensen, 29, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted sexual solicitation of a child, a class A misdemeanor. He was originally charged with sexual solicitation of a child, a third-degree felony. In exchange for his plea, a second charge of lewdness, a class B misdemeanor, was dismissed.
Fourth District Judge Robert Lunnen last month ordered Jensen to serve a year in jail, but suspended the jail time and sentenced him to two years of probation. He was also ordered to do 10 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim or her family.
Payson police began searching for the girl who had run away from home two days before she was found living with Jensen and working as a nanny. Text messages showed Jensen had met the girl about five months earlier and paid her for a sex act, according to charging documents.
