PARIS — For the first time in more than 30 years, the tennis competition at an Olympics will be held on red clay. That means players who recently made the adjustment from clay at the French Open in early June to grass at Wimbledon in early July now will need to reverse course again in short order for the Paris Games. The transition back to Roland Garros for matches starting on July 27 is more concerning to some players than others. Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion from Kazakhstan, says switching surfaces won't be easy physically or mentally for her.
