OREM — Utah Valley women's soccer showed the crowd in attendance anything but an uneventful game Thursday night as the team swept Utah Tech 7-0.
With three goals scored in the first half and four in the second, the Wolverines dominated the field and showed the Trailblazers no mercy. Heather Stainbrook and Faith Webber led the Wolverines in goals with two each throughout the game.
Stainbrook scored her first at the 27th minute with assists from Nicole Olanda and Jenna Shepherd Gremillion. Her second goal was at the 48th minute with an assist from Nixan Jackson.
Webber solidified the win while also breaking the school record for goals in a single season with the final two goals at the 57th minute and in the 62nd. The goals put her at 16 for the 2023 season — two more than the previous record that was set by Webber last year.
Before the end of the half, and with only 16 minutes of playing time the whole night, Ashley Garcia secured the third goal for Utah Valley in the 38th minute with an assist by Quincy Bonds.
Jackson led Utah Valley in assists and played key roles in Sydney Bushman's goal at the 24th minute, Stainbrook's first goal, and Ruby Hladek's goal at the 56th minute.
The Wolverines will close out the regular season with a final home game against Southern Utah Monday at 6 p.m. MDT in Orem.
