HIGHLAND — It ain't over 'til it's over.

Down 20 points in the fourth quarter, Skyridge exploded for three unanswered touchdowns to steal a 31-30 road victory over Lone Peak Friday night.

"It was not an easy road, and we made it as hard as we possibly could for ourselves, but I'm really proud of how our guys regrouped and attacked," Skyridge head coach Jon Lehman said.

The Falcons were in an offensive funk for the majority of the contest, failing to put a touchdown on the board until midway through the third quarter. Smith Snowden opened the fourth quarter with a 96-yard kick return score, providing the spark for a late Skyridge rally.

"He's a really tough minded kid," Lehman said of Snowden. "He plays his best in the biggest moments when things are toughest, he always has and he always will."

Skyridge's defense finally began to frustrate the Knights, making crucial stops and getting off the field to set the table for a pair of comeback-sealing touchdowns from Falcons running back Tate Walker.

"Negativity works 100% of the time, so we were trying to stay positive and stay focused on the next play," Walker said.

His final touchdown came with just under five minutes left in the contest, giving Skyridge's defense a successful opportunity to protect the lead in crunchtime.

"Win or lose, you want to be in these types of games where you get tested and you get stronger," Lehman said.

Lone Peak scored on two touchdown catches from Cole Christensen and another from Crew McChesney, with kicker Ian Sanches adding three field goals, including two kicks from 54 and 56 yards each.

In addition to Snowden and Walker's scores, Jace Doman found the end zone on a touchdown pass from Trent Call, who played through nagging injuries to lead four scoring drives and orchestrate the comeback.

"He fought as hard as he could," Walker said of Call.

Skyridge moves to 7-1 with the win and readies for another road battle at Pleasant Grove next weekend.

"We need to be taken seriously, we're ready to play some ball," Walker said.
