SALT LAKE CITY — North Tooele Fire District Chief Randy Willden has resigned after an allegation of wrongdoing, the district announced Tuesday.
The fire district's board placed Willden on administrative leave during a closed-door session of its Dec. 10 meeting, and Willden resigned the following day, according to a news release from the district.
The release did not provide any more details about the nature of the allegation. The district is withholding further information until a third-party investigation has been completed, the release said.
Willden joined the North Tooele Fire District in 2011 and has 38 years of firefighting experience across the state of Utah, the release said.
The district will not be making any further comments about Willden's resignation until the investigation is completed. No other information about the investigation has been provided.
