SALT LAKE CITY — No doubt, being a law enforcement officer is a tough job. But it also includes some rewarding moments that are sweet as can be.

The KSL.com "Make Your Week" column features uplifting stories sent in from people outside the newsroom. This edition features two accounts of Utah law enforcement officers who went above and beyond the call of duty, along with one about kids who recognized an officer's hard work with a kind gesture.

All of these uplifting moments were highlighted on social media by the officers' respective agency.

Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake

The June 17 Facebook post reads: "Yesterday, one of our Millcreek officers responded on a report of a disabled man in a motorized wheelchair with a dead battery. Officer T. Weeks responded and pushed the man in his wheelchair over 3 blocks, back to the man's house. Officer Weeks is a pretty fit guy. But by his own account, his legs were burning afterwards. High-five to Officer Weeks for going above and beyond the call of duty!"

Utah Highway Patrol

The June 18 tweet reads: "Last week while taking a short break from patrol in American Fork, Trp. Alexander got the opportunity to make this boy's day by letting him sit atop his State Trooper Motorcycle. The boy's mother reached out to us to let us know what a positive experience it was for her son."

The June 12 tweet included a photo of an officer with two children. It reads: "These kids wanted to thank an officer for keeping them safe and treated him with cookies!"
