The Dominguez/Escalante Expedition of 1776 took Spanish Padres through Utah in search of a path to Monterrey, California. Along the way, the party halted at the Colorado River at what is now Lake Powell. While there, one of the explorers left an inscription that wasn't found until 2006. We've known about this inscription but have never seen it. So we set out with Bob Reed from Uplake Adventures to hike to this rare site of American history on our country's 250th anniversary, which coincides with when the inscription was made.
