Save Story

Inquisitive minds never go stir crazy on the couch over summer break. Our new KSL Events has fresh ideas and interesting places to visit at the end of July.

Mark your calendars for golf, dinosaurs, outdoor skills, science camps and more.

Elkhorn Earth Skills

Head to Boulder, in Garfield County, for the Elkhorn Earth Skills Gathering and become one with nature. These outdoor educational activities are great for the whole family. Try the primitive Olympics or primitive eating classes. Join pottery classes, create some music and learn to live sustainably. Delicious breakfasts and dinners are served each day.

Pixar Putt

Introducing Pixar Putt, a pop-up mini-golf course in Riverton. The course is designed after everyone's favorite Pixar movies, such as "The Incredibles," "Monsters, Inc.," "A Bug's Life" and more. Putter on over for date nights, family nights or group events.

Ancient Ecosystems camp

You thought spiders and centipedes were scary? Wait until you hear about gigantic insects and other oddities from the distant past. Curious kiddos will love the Natural History Museum of Utah's Ancient Ecosystems camp and Ice Age Exhibit.

Dinos After Dark

If "Jurassic Park" made you want to be a paleontologist, you're not alone! Head to Dinos After Dark at the Mountain America Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi. There, you can compete in a dig pit challenge, listen to dino-mite tales by campfire, and enjoy plenty of other extinct but fascinating fun.

Wild Wednesday

Wildlife in suburbia? No, you're not in "Zootopia." It's Wild Wednesday with Layton Aquarium and Wildlife Encounters at the Layton Hills Mall on July 30. There will be educational activities and animal enrichment crafts. Each child who completes a craft will get a free admission pass to the Layton Aquarium.

Wizard's Train

Harry Potter nerds know his birthday is July 31. Why not celebrate the day by hopping aboard the Wizard's Train on Utah's Platform 9 ¾ (aka Heber Valley Railroad)? Bust out your wizarding world knowledge for trivia games, get sorted into your house by the Sorting Hat, enjoy (or don't) Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, and snack on other magical sundries.

Need more family activities in Utah? KSL Events has something to keep everyone entertained all summer long.
