PROVO — It's only 93 days until BYU kicks off the 2025 football season, not that anyone is counting.
Kickoff just got a little closer.
The Big 12 announced kickoff times and TV slates for select games Thursday, which now include BYU's nonconference home games, the conference opener at Colorado, and the Friday night game against West Virginia on Latter-day Saint general conference weekend.
The Cougars will kick off the season Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. MDT against FCS Portland State. A week later, BYU will host ACC foe Stanford in an 8:15 p.m. MDT kickoff on ESPN in Provo.
After a trip to American Athletic foe East Carolina, the Cougars will open Big 12 play Sept. 27 at Colorado (8:15 p.m. MDT, ESPN). It will be the 14th all-time meeting with the Buffaloes, including last year's 36-14 win in the Alamo Bowl.
The conference home opener is a week later Oct. 3 against West Virginia (8:30 p.m. MDT, ESPN).
The rest of the Cougars' schedule will be announced on a 12-day or six-day notice by the conference's television partners. This year marks the first of a new media deal that includes TNT Sports, in addition to ESPN and FOX. The TNT games will also be broadcast onn HBO Max under terms of an agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery and ESPN last November.

BYU basketball adds UConn matchup in Boston
The Cougars also announced Thursday that second-year head coach Kevin Young's program will face UConn in a Hall of Fame Series game at TD Garden in Boston.
Tipoff from the home of the Boston Celtics is scheduled for Nov. 15, as announced in partnership with the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. The game will be something of a homecoming for BYU freshman and top-rated recruit AJ Dybantsa, who grew up in Brockton, Massachussetts, before a prep career at Prolific Prep in California and Utah Prep in Hurricane.
"The Hall of Fame Series continues to deliver great non-conference matchups for men's college basketball," Young said in a statement. "The game against UConn in Boston is going to be a great test for our team and allow Cougar fans all over the East Coast to see us play in one of the premiere venues in the NBA."
BYU has played the Huskies just once in both programs' history, a 58-53 loss in the opening round of the 2003 NCAA Tournament in Spokane, Washington. Travis Hansen had a game-high 21 points against UConn, which was led by future lottery picks Ben Gordon and Emeka Okafor.
Game time, broadcast plans and ticket sales will be announced at a later date.
