OUT OF THE KENNEL — Sports teams often partner with community organizations to promote worthy causes, but this week's might be the cutest yet.

Real Salt Lake and the Oklahoma City Thunder helped out their respective local humane societies by pairing a puppy up for adoption with each player as they made their arrivals last week.

The Thunder worked with the Oklahoma Humane Society on March 21 against the Charlotte Hornets and RSL made Saturday's home match against FC Dallas a spotlight for the Utah Humane Society, with each member of the starting lineup holding a dog as they took the field for the national anthem.

This isn't he first time a furry friend found its way into a Utah sporting event in recent months, with the Utah Hockey Club partnering with America's VetDogs to help raise black Labrador Retriever Archie starting last November. Archie has made several appearances at Hockey Club home games at the Delta Center since then.

All of the dogs held by RSL players are available for adoption at utahhumane.org.
