COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS — A 20-year-old Pizza Hut manager wasn't expecting to be starstruck when he prepared to open the restaurant Saturday.

But half an hour before the Cottonwood Heights restaurant opened, music star Post Malone came knocking.

"I didn't think it was him at first," Kolby Aguila said.

Aguila opened the door and the musician asked if they were open.

"For you man, we can be open for you," Aguila replied.

Aguila took his order, which consisted of some pizzas and wings, and Aguila went about making the food. He said was scared to make the pizza because he didn't want to ruin it for one of his favorite musicians.

"I honestly couldn't believe it. I was really nervous," he said.

Post Malone chatted with Aguila while he was making his order before asking how much he owed him.

Aguila said the order was on the house. "Anything for him, he's a rock star." Then the musician went to his car to get his wallet.

"I didn't think he was going to give a tip but he pulled out all of the money in his wallet and it was $1,200 and he just gave me it and told me to keep it," Aguila said.

Post Malone lives in Cottonwood Heights, which he has called "the most amazing place ever."

Aguila was the only worker at the restaurant when Post Malone showed up, but his co-worker arrived right before the music star left. Aguila said he kept $800 of the tip and gave the other $400 to his co-worker.

"It helped me with the payment on my car and hospital bills, it helped a ton," he said. "I'm just happy as a fan, appreciating what he's doing for his fans and anyone in the world that he encounters, he helps out a lot."

As someone who has been listening to Post Malone's music since middle school, Aguila still can't believe he got to meet him.

"He was a really genuine person. Probably one of the coolest dudes I've ever met," he said.
