PARAGUAY – There are so many anti-theft solutions out there. Examples include:
- Alarms
- Security cameras
- RFID tags
- Locked display cases
- Loss prevention guard
Despite retailers' best efforts, however, shoplifting rates are spiking in some cities. So what can be done? Is more technology needed? Should we be locking up more products in plexiglass cases, as Walgreens has done?
I was impressed by the novel approach in this video:
It's a simple strategy. If someone tries to take something from your store and put it in their car, just take it out of their car and return it to your store.
I'm sure this isn't a viable solution in most situations. But it was funny to see how effectively it played out in this particular video. As the caption says, "A little reminder of when they tried to rob us but we were faster."
