SALT LAKE CITY — The Finnish Connection is real in Utah, thanks to Matias Maccelli, Olli Maatta and Juuso Valimaki of the Utah Hockey Club, and Lauri Markkanen of the Utah Jazz.
Maatta and Valimaki were named to Finland's squad in the upcoming Four Nations Face Off, drawing a bit of encouragement — in Finnish — from Markkanen. SLC Puck's Austin Facer wonders if Maccelli, who was left off the squad, could be added as an alternate as the tournament's Feb. 12 start draws closer.
