OGDEN — The Internal Revenue Service is hosting a hiring event to fill over 100 vacancies in administrative positions at its Ogden service center.

Hiring managers will be working to fill clerk and tax examiner positions, but applicants don't need previous tax experience, according to the event announcement, with pay starting at $16.95 to $18.96, hourly, plus benefits.

Those interested may be "identifying and reviewing forms, preparing inventory reports, reviewing filed material, transcribing taxpayer documents, responding to taxpayer correspondence, resolving account issues, and reviewing tax returns for errors and missing information," the posting says.

Open jobs are in-person, entry-level and seasonal, typically lasting 6 to 8 months each year, the announcement says, with the possibility of day and swing shifts.

The event is taking place at the Ogden Courtyard by Marriott at 247 24th Street, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.,Tuesday and Wednesday. Applicants can make a reservation for a time slot at the Eventbrite site, or walk in after noon on both days.

Those interested must fill out an application before being evaluated by the hiring officials, according to the announcement, and applicants should bring copies of their resumes and transcripts if they are using those documents to qualify. American Sign Language interpreters will be available, the IRS posting says.

"We will be making job offers to those that pre-applied to the exclusive announcement listed above and were deemed qualified," the listing says. If an offer is extended, they will take part in a two- to three-hour pre-employment process, which includes fingerprinting, according to the IRS.
