CEDAR CITY — A Cedar City man is facing multiple charges after allegedly threatening another motorist during a traffic confrontation.
Barry Donald Chalmers, 47, was booked into Iron County Jail on Nov. 11 on suspicion of obstructing justice and possession of a firearm by a restricted person, both third-degree felonies, as well as misdemeanor charges related to reckless driving, reckless endangerment and making threats.
According to the probable cause statement filed in support of the arrest, a motorist called 911 on the afternoon of Nov. 2 to report that another driver had brandished a firearm from his side window.
Police later located the suspect's vehicle at a nearby gas station and detained Chalmers, advising him of his Miranda rights and placing him inside a patrol vehicle.
