ST. GEORGE — A woman is reportedly being investigated for possible intoxication following a traffic collision early Sunday morning.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Mike Alexander said the incident occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 15 at approximately 8:42 a.m. He said a woman was driving in the wrong direction on the freeway, heading south in the northbound lanes. Her vehicle reportedly sideswiped a pickup truck traveling north near Leeds.

Alexander received reports that the woman sustained minor injuries from the collision but said the two men in the truck were not injured.

He said officers believed the woman to be impaired due to field testing results. The woman was later taken to a hospital to have her injuries treated and to receive further testing for intoxication. After this, she was taken to the Washington County Jail.
