TAYLORSVILLE — A fire a the discount store Value Vault in Taylorsville caused an estimated loss of $1.3 million dollars Saturday morning, according to the Unified Fire Department.
Crews were dispatched at about 3 a.m. after reports of smoke to the structure at 2600 W. 4700 South. More support was requested, with the call being upgraded to a second alarm fire.
Videos posted on social media show at least two fire trucks with ladders extending over the building at the time of the blaze, and firefighters walking into the store completely enveloped in smoke.
Responders used an "aggressive fire attack," according to the post, to stop the spread. The cause is believed to be an electrical fire near the furnace of the building, the post said.
