SALT LAKE CITY — The Jazz+ streaming service is expanding.
The streaming service that proved popular among the Utah Jazz fan base is expanding to include the Utah Hockey Club. The Smith Entertainment Group announced it will offer three different streaming service options this season: Jazz+, UtahHC+ and SEG+.
The direct-to-consumer streaming options will allow fans in Utah (and nearby states) to stream games for a fee.
As the names imply, Jazz+ will stream Jazz games, UtahHC+ will show the Utah Hockey Club, and SEG+ will broadcast both.
"We gained valuable insight into our fans' streaming preferences last season and look forward to creating even more memories with them through the front-row access and intuitive experiences that SEG+, UtahHC+, and Jazz+ provide," SEG chief communications officer Caroline Klein said.
The full-season price for Jazz+ is $125.50 and UtahHC+ is $69.99. The combined SEG+ service is $174.99. SEG is offering two free tickets to a Jazz or Utah HC preseason or early regular-season game for those who buy the yearly subscription by Sept. 30.
Fans can also purchase a monthly package and stream single games for $5 apiece.
So who can buy it? Well, that depends on what team you're interested in watching.
Jazz+ will be available for all of Utah and parts of Wyoming and Idaho. The broadcast territory appears to be unchanged from last season.
UtahHC+, however, has a wider footprint, which is good news for Arizona fans who have followed their beloved Coyotes north. Along with all of Utah, the service is also available to all of Wyoming, Montana, New Mexico and Arizona, plus portions of Nevada and even a sliver of southern California.
SEG has also added DVR capabilities, including the ability to pause and rewind live games.
The service doesn't broadcast television plans for either team. Non-national Jazz games are on KJZZ (channel 14) and non-national Utah Hockey Club games will be broadcast on KUPX-TV (channel 16).
