SALT LAKE CITY — The Olympics was always the dream for MyKayla Skinner ever since she was a little girl.
Her gymnastics history is one of great dedication and personal sacrifice. By 12, she was training as an elite gymnast, and by 14 she was on the junior national team. Despite being hospitalized just seven months before the Tokyo Olympic Games, she fought back.
After Simone Biles withdrew from the vault, Skinner had one last chance to win a medal.
Skinner talks about her story of perseverance and how she chased an Olympic dream, and what she now treasures most in the video above.
