AMERICAN FORK — Daniel Simmons, who has a passion for running, just graduated from American Fork High.
That passion has helped Simmons to become one of Utah's greatest high school distance runners. He broke a dozen state records, as well as several national marks and signed to run for BYU — after he serves a church mission.
"He's a generational talent — for sure," said BYU track and field coach Ed Eyestone.
Simmons talks about his career and how he's so close to breaking the four-minute mile, and how his faith affects everything in his life in the video above.
