SALT LAKE CITY — Something "Wicked" this way comes.
In an email to subscribers, Broadway at the Eccles announced Wednesday the popular Broadway musical will return to Salt Lake City for the 2024/2025 season.
The full season lineup will be announced on Feb. 21, according to the email.

"Our family has been waiting for years to see this," Herriman resident Cory Burgon said. "Our daughter listens to the soundtrack weekly, if not daily. We can't wait."
"Wicked" takes place before the events of "The Wizard of Oz," following witches Elphaba and Glinda, who are best friends before one of them is dubbed a "good witch" and the other a "wicked witch."
Loosely based on a book by Gregory Maguire, "Wicked" is currently the fourth-longest-running Broadway show. The musical celebrated its 20th anniversary on the Great White Way, a website that spotlights Broadway, in October 2023.
The musical fan-favorite won 2004 Tony Awards for best actress in a musical (Idina Menzel as Elphaba), best costume design and best scenic design.
"Wicked" fans can also catch the beloved musical in movie theaters on Nov. 27. Part one of the two-part movie stars Ariana Grande, as Glinda, and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba.
Directed by Jon M. Chu (of "Crazy Rich Asians" and "In the Heights,") Wicked" Part Two will be released Nov. 26, 2025.
"It's the year of 'Wicked" and I'm loving it," said St. George resident Meg Harrison, who saw the 2019 tour of "Wicked" in Salt Lake City. "This show will, once again, make us defy gravity, because everyone deserves the chance to fly!"
