HERRIMAN — For Lone Peak, revenge is a dish best served cold.

Nearly two months after losing at home to Mountain Ridge, the Knights ended the Sentinels' season in a 14-3 upset win in the second round of 6A playoff action Friday afternoon.

"There was definitely a revenge factor," Lone Peak head coach Bart Brockbank said. "They wanted to come out and show they could beat (Mountain Ridge)."

Lone Peak's defense played hero all day long, most notably by intercepting four Wyatt Bingham passes.

"Our safeties and corners want to play receiver, so they go out to prove they can play receiver by going and getting picks," Brockbank said. "(Coach Ryan Denney) does a good job disguising (schemes)."

Brooks Wilde ran for a touchdown early while Jackson Blake connected with Trey Robinson for a 35-yard score to account for Lone Peak's scoring. The Sentinels only managed a Brody Laga 56-yard field goal.

The Knights now prepare to face the winner of Friday night's Corner Canyon-Layton matchup.

"We can hang with anybody when we're healthy, and we're getting there," Brockbank said.
