FARMINGTON — The lights lit up the gridiron Thursday as Farmington and Davis faced off in an exciting Region 1 matchup, but it was the Darts that got the gritty road win.

Davis found itself in a hole, but came from behind to beat Farmington 36-35.

The Darts threw the first punch Thursday night on their first possession off an 11-yard pass from Tyson Bagget to Tradon Bessinger, but Farmington had a quick answer.

With 1:20 left in the first quarter, the Phoenix got their offense rolling. The quarterback and wide receiver connection worked its magic as Easton Wight found Jake Metcalf on a 27-yard pass to even the score at 7-7 going into the second quarter.

The second frame was an offensive showing from Farmington as Wight found Camden Stuart and Metcalf, once again, for two more touchdowns.

Farmington's success in the first half didn't only feature its passing game, but the run game, as well. Junior Lucas Peterson showed his speed and gave the Phoenix a 28-7 lead with a 31-yard run into the end zone.

Bessinger kept the Darts in the picture and ended the first half with a 35-yard pass to Logan Sundoff to cut into Farmington's lead.

Fans in attendance witnessed a slow third quarter where the only scoring came from Davis off a 22-yard field goal from junior kicker Finn Garff. But the Darts didn't let up there.

Early in the fourth quarter, Bessinger looked downfield and found Bagget again with a 14-yard pass to chip away at Farmington's lead.

The fireworks continued in the quarter as the Darts scored twice more. Owen Talbot took the game into his own hands with a crucial 1-yard run and a 2-point conversion late in regulation to secure the come-from-behind win for the Darts.

The Darts celebrated their eighth win of the season and look to close out region play against the Syracuse Titans at home. The Phoenix fall to 1-2 in region and will hit the road to take on Fremont on Oct.11.
