THE NATURE PARK — Baby elephants are nature’s gift to the world.
They are smart and curious, which leads them into all sorts of hijinks and adorable behavior. You just have to peruse our past articles to get a taste of things like this adorably stuck baby elephant and this calf chasing birds like a puppy. Even their first steps are just about the cutest.
This video marks yet another winsome moment for the pachyderms when an elephant named Thong Ae at the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand decides she wants to do a little shoe shopping. First, she has to convince her caretaker to give up his sandal, and then it’s time to try it on to reach a level of fabulous that no other elephant has reached before.
The problem is that this is no fairytale. And even if it were, she’s named Thong Ae and not Cinderella, so that shoe will never fit no matter what. But that doesn’t stop this spunky gal from trying — and trying and trying.
Her patience and continued efforts are actually impressive, and she seems determined to succeed. The closest she gets to a good fit is when she tosses it onto her head and wears it briefly like a hat. But she’s not here to make a fashion statement in the elephant world, so the shoe hat simply won’t do.
