CEDAR CITY — A man died after being struck by a vehicle outside a grocery store parking lot in Cedar City on Friday, police said.

Officers and emergency responders were called to the auto-pedestrian crash at the Smith's parking lot, 633 S. Main, shortly after noon, Cedar City police wrote in a statement.

Emergency responders performed CPR on the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was in his 70s, but his name was not immediately released.

Cedar City police did not provide any details about what led up to the crash, which remains under investigation. They said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
