President Dallin H. Oaks — Alive in Christ

President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dallin H. Oaks, began his Easter Sunday address by speaking about the resurrection of Jesus Christ."I wonder if we fully appreciate the enormous significance of our belief in a literal, universal resurrection. The conviction that death is not the conclusion of our identity changes the whole perspective of our mortal life," President Oaks said.

The idea that all people will be resurrected with perfect bodies can help individuals endure trials and strengthen family relationships with the promise of joyful reunions after death, he explained.

— GeneralConference (@ldsconf) April 5, 2026President Oaks addressed the current "toxic" and "hostile" climate, "involving many whose Christian beliefs should orient them otherwise," suggesting that instead people should pattern their behavior toward one another after the way Christ treated others — including his enemies."Today, we might say that we are commanded to love our adversaries. All mortals are beloved children of God," he said.He shared a story about a nurse who had a difficult patient who mistreated her, but in a moment of crisis, she felt God's love for him and saw the patient as a child of God, illustrating how God's love can transform hearts and perspectives.However, President Oaks continued, loving others as Christ would "does not mean surrendering our values." "The covenants we have made inevitably position us as devoted participants in the eternal contest between truth and error," he added, explaining that following Christ means balancing truth with compassion.

Elder Alan R. Walker — A peculiar treasure

God has a treasure much like the "treasure" that Elder Alan R. Walker used to "search" for with his brothers when they visited his grandparents, who lived near the Andes mountains in Mendoza, Argentina, said the Seventy born in Buenos Aires who currently serves in the church's South America South Area Presidency.But that treasure is not gold or silver, he said. God's treasure is his children, every man, woman and child on Earth, he noted."Just as the treasures my brothers and I searched for were never found on the surface, becoming the Lord's treasure and receiving his divine acceptance is not something casual or accidental," Elder Walker said. "It requires patient effort, faithful persistence, and sacrifice. We must be willing to lay aside lesser things … so that we may offer ourselves wholly and without reservation."Becoming the Lord's treasure requires men, women and children to make and keep covenants."This is part of what it means to be the Lord's peculiar treasure," Elder Walker said. Elder Thierry K. Mutombo — The joy of a covenant relationship with God

In his conference address, Elder Thierry K. Mutombo of the Seventy shared an Easter greeting he said is common for many Christians. The first person will say, "Christ is risen," and the other will respond, "Truly, he is risen.""It is a celebration of the divine gift offered by Heavenly Father to us. The understanding of what Jesus Christ offers through his Atonement and Resurrection brings comfort, peace and reassurance to all of us," he said.

Elder Mutombo said he and his wife, Nathalie, have 10 children, and four of those have died, leading them to question if their prayers were heard.Elder Mutombo spoke about holding their 9-month-old after he died in his crib and begging for a miracle — but he said, "God's plan is perfect … my prayers did not change his mind and will."Tradition, he said, would require him and his wife to separate, and their extended families asked him to remove his wife's belongings from their home.He said he felt peace and reassurance that they were both children of God. Elder Mutombo denied the request, telling those family members his wife was his eternal companion and they were creating an eternal family."Exercising my faith in Jesus Christ made me stronger," he said.

He encouraged them to remember Christ suffered for them during times of sorrow."The doom of that day did not last forever. The despair did not linger because, on Sunday, the resurrected Savior overcame the bonds of death. Elder Dale G. Renlund — Because of Jesus Christ

Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles opened his talk with an anecdote about Lady, his family's former black toy poodle that loved to play fetch. In the story, he threw two balls for her: one yellow and one blue. She switched back and forth between the balls, never making up her mind long enough to bring one to him.

We may feel like Lady — overwhelmed and discouraged and just want to crawl back into bed," Elder Renlund said.He advised that maintaining an eternal perspective can help people prioritize all of the many concerns of modern life. Christ and his atonement are central to God's plan, so focusing on Christ as central to our lives aligns our lives with that plan.Elder Renlund reflected on the reasons we celebrate Easter:

Christ conquered death, so death is not the end and everyone can be resurrected.

Christ is willing and able to save us from our sins; his forgiveness is infinite.

Christ understands our concerns and challenges because he has experienced them.

Elder Ronald A. Rasband — He is risen

Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles centered his Easter Sunday remarks on the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a core tenet of the church's faith."Jesus Christ and his Resurrection is at the very core of the doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints," Elder Rasband said.That event made Christ more than a religious figure, a manager, a rabbi, or a teacher. The Resurrection heralded Jesus Christ as "the only begotten son of the father."After his Resurrection, he appeared to many, including Mary at the tomb, his apostles and other disciples around Jerusalem, and even in the Americas as chronicled in the Book of Mormon, Elder Rasband noted.

He shared a touching story of his grandson Paxton, who was born with special needs and lived three years with their family.But lessons from Paxton's short life — including "an increased, deep and abiding trust in the Lord" live on. And Elder Rasband shared his firm belief that the family will see his grandson again because of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ."May we be at peace, brothers and sisters," he said. "For the Lord has promised: 'Where I am, there ye may be also.'"

Elder Edward B. Rowe — Choose Jesus Christ as your guide

In his conference address, Elder Edward B. Rowe, general authority seventy, invited members to accept the invitation to let Christ be their guide. He said Christ can heal them.He started his talk by sharing an experience of walking through remote areas that had recently been war zones. He was given a guide who would help him avoid land mines."As I followed in his footsteps, walking with my guide, I developed great trust and gratitude for him," Elder Rowe said.He said Christ's individual invitation to follow and walk with him is consistent and extended to everyone.

Elder Pedro X. Larreal — I feel my Savior's love

Elder Pedro X. Larreal of the Seventy began his talk by asking audience members if they knew how much Jesus Christ loves them.He explained that one of the most powerful ways to remember and understand Christ's love is to take the sacrament and reflect on the Atonement and sacrifice he made for each person.

Elder Larreal encouraged members to approach the sacrament with reverence and to set aside distractions such as secular books and phones to focus on the Atonement.Focusing on Christ will allow members to feel his love more deeply and gain strength to face life's challenges.

President Emily Belle Freeman — Best days and worst days

President Emily Belle Freeman, who has been Young Women's general president since Aug. 1, 2023, opened with the news of her husband Greg only "several weeks ago" when, as the couple was helping to plan their daughter's wedding, they received news that her husband's cancer had returned.One was the example of a best day, and the other a worst day, she said. But God's love is available to all people, both on their best days and their worst days. She then shared the story of Peter, one of Jesus Christ's apostles, to illustrate how God's love is available to all church members every day, whether in their best or worst moments.

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf — Encounter at the empty tomb

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, began his conference address speaking about the women who found an empty tomb and learned Christ was risen. He said the women's encounter at the empty tomb changed them and the world forever. They found an empty tomb and became the first witnesses of "the single greatest event in the history of this world." "The bold message of the empty tomb is that Jesus Christ is not merely a historical figure. We do not seek him among the dead. He is risen! We understand he is not confined to the pages of a book any more than he was confined to that grave of stone," President Uchtdorf said.

"The scriptures teach us not only who Jesus was but who He is. Because of what happened on that Sunday morning, we can speak of Jesus Christ in the present tense. He lives. Today. At this moment." — @UchtdorfDF | #GeneralConference

President Uchtdorf said Christ is "an active, ongoing influence" in the church and in the lives of those who follow him. "Because Jesus Christ conquered death, surely, he can conquer any danger, confusion or doubt we face," he said. President Uchtdorf told conferencegoers they must experience what the empty tomb means and then share that with others. "The Savior has entrusted each of us personally with sacred spiritual experiences and knowledge, even on a daily basis … Jesus Christ lives and is actively blessing all who seek him," he said.
