BRIGHAM CITY — Police are searching for a driver who hit and killed a woman in Brigham City and then drove away.

Brigham City police responded to 850 S. 425 East just before 8 p.m. on Monday. A 65-year-old woman was found in the street with serious injuries that were "consistent with having been struck by a motor vehicle," Brigham City police said in a statement.

The woman was treated by medics on scene and taken to a hospital, where she later died, police said. Her identity has not been released.

Detectives are investigating the incident as an automobile homicide, but the driver of the vehicle that potentially hit the woman has not been identified. Anyone with information about the crash is encouraged to contact Brigham City police at 435-734-6650.
