HILDALE — A former assistant coach at Water Canyon High School is facing a misdemeanor charge based on allegations he had an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old athlete at the school, authorities say.

On Tuesday, 37-year-old Aaron Peter LaCorti, of Cane Beds, Arizona, was arrested and transported to jail in Washington County facing one misdemeanor count of unlawful kissing of a minor, according to charging documents filed in court.

The alleged incident involved LaCorti, who was employed as an assistant coach in Hildale at the time, and a teenage girl who was under the age of 17.

According to investigators, the incident took place in an area referred to as "The Rock," and LaCorti held a special position of trust with the teen who was a participant in the school's athletic program at the time, court records stated.
