CEDAR CITY — A southern Utah man accused of sending illicit photos to an underaged decoy was arrested as part of an undercover "chat case" by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in Illinois.

On March 5, the Iron County Attorney's Office filed formal charges against 27-year-old Darin Michael Mangum that included a second-degree felony count of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, two third-degree felony counts of dealing harmful materials to a minor, and a misdemeanor count of enticing a minor.

The charges were filed after police received information about an Internet Crimes Against Children's chat sting last month.

On Feb. 10, an investigator with the Dekalb County Sheriff's Office in Sycamore, Illinois, contacted a Cedar City Police detective to say she had been working undercover as a 14-year-old decoy, according to court documents.
