LOGAN — A family mourned their loved one who was trapped inside a burning home Saturday morning and did not survive.

Logan firefighters tried to rescue 40-year-old Terilynn Roskelley inside a burning home, but they weren't able to bring her to safety.

Terilynn Roskelley wasn't the only person inside the residence when the fire broke out.

Logan police and firefighters told KSL-TV that a few other people living inside the house were able to escape.

Terilynn Roskelley's brother, Shane Roskelley, said he knows first responders tried their hardest Saturday. He says she was living with her boyfriend's parents.

"She was taking care of his parents when the fire happened," Shane Roskelley said. "Hopefully, she realizes how much I love her."

Firefighters said combustible materials made contact with a wall-mounted heater. It was ruled an accident.

"One of the elderly people went in to try and find her, but the smoke was so great they couldn't," Shane Roskelley said.

The loss has been especially hard for Terilynn Roskelley's two children, who are 21 and 22. Julia Kaae Roskelley said Terilynn Roskelley's daughter is a young mom trying to go to school.

"Her son just got home from three years serving in the army in Alaska," Julia Roskelley said. "The unexpected loss of their mom leaves a huge financial burden for them and their children."

The Roskelleys say it's hard to look at pictures and video of the fire, but they feel some peace when they revisit photos of Terilynn at her best.

"My heart does go out to that family because they've got loss, as well as being displaced," Julia Roskelley said.

"We think she's with loved ones on the other side with our mom, with our father," Shane Roskelley said.
