ST. GEORGE — Fifty-one films, spanning historical to environmental documentaries, from more than 10 countries will screen at the upcoming Docutah International Documentary Film Festival.

The 15-year-old festival will be held Feb. 27 through March 1 at Megaplex Theatres Sunset in St. George at 8:30 p.m. Additionally, Doctalks discussions with specially invited filmmakers are free for the public to attend Feb. 27-28 at 8:30 p.m. These interactive experiences include in-depth conversations with filmmakers and guests.

"After we accept our films, I reach out to a small pool of filmmakers whose films we feel are exceptional and would create interesting dialogue among viewers," Tisa Zito, Docutah program director and Utah Tech University digital film producer, told St. George News.

The submissions range from documentaries on saving turtles, whales, the Holocaust, athletic feats, human struggles and overcoming challenges. Organizers said other subjects include surfboards made from cigarette butts and a film about human cyborgs.
