MIDWAY — Two snowmobilers were rescued Saturday after getting caught in an avalanche in Wasatch County.

According to Wasatch County Search & Rescue, the call reporting the slide came in around noon on Saturday. It happened in the Snake Creek area, located in the mountains northwest of Midway.

Upon responding, rescue teams discovered that two male snowmobilers were caught in the slide. One of the snowmobilers sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital via medical helicopter, according to a social media post by Wasatch County Search & Rescue.
