SALT LAKE CITY β It's time to get your fall affairs in order.
On Tuesday morning in a special schedule broadcast on ESPNU, the Big 12 released its 2025 football schedule, including Utah's schedule, which includes only four road conference games this season for the Utes.
And the Utes will begin conference play at home against Texas Tech on Sept. 20 in only the third-ever meeting between the two teams and the first time the Red Raiders have ever played in Salt Lake City.
Utah will then travel to West Virginia (Sept. 27) in the first-ever regular season meeting between the two teams. The Utes have played the Mountaineers twice before, but only in bowl games, including most recently the Heart of Dallas Bowl, where Utah won 30-14 in 2017.
Following the two first conference games of the season, Utah will take part in its first bye before a difficult stretch against reigning Big 12 champion Arizona State (Oct. 11), a road rivalry matchup against BYU (Oct. 18) and a home meeting against Colorado (Oct. 25), followed up by another home game against Cincinnati (Nov. 1).
The Utes will closeout their schedule with a road game against Baylor (Nov. 15), followed by a senior night game against Kansas State (Nov. 22), before wrapping up the regular season on the road against Kansas (Nov. 28 or 29).

The Utes will kick off the season on the road in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, where Utah will take on former Pac-12 foe UCLA in the season-opener on Saturday, Aug. 30. It will be only the third time in the last 15 seasons that Utah has started off the season in a road environment.
Utah will have a second nonconference road game on Saturday, Sept. 13 β sandwiching a home game against FCS Cal Poly on Sept. 6 β where the Utes will return to face a familiar opponent in Wyoming for the first time since Oct. 16, 2010 when the two were members of the same conference.
The two schools were previously supposed to begin a home-and-home series on Sept. 19, 2020, but the COVID outbreak forced Utah to only play Pac-12 opponents in a shortened and delayed season. The return trip was to be played on Sept. 6, 2025, before the two schools agreed to new dates, with Utah now hosting Wyoming in 2027.
Times and broadcast designations for nonconference games and games played on days outside of Saturday will be made in summer. Conference games will continue to be decided approximately 10-14 days before each game.
Utah will soon take part in its annual spring camp, starting in March, before closing out the NCAA allowed 15 practices with the 22 Forever game in April (a date has not been formally announced).
