SCIPIO, Millard County — A Layton man was killed, and four others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash that forced the closure of northbound I-15 in Millard County last week.

The man who died was identified as Conner Young, 22.

The crash occurred before 8 a.m. several miles south of Scipio on Dec. 9. The Utah Highway Patrol said a semitruck pulling a box trailer and a flatbed trailer lost control on the icy roadway, left the roadway to the right and struck a cable barrier.

The semi came to rest sideways, with both trailers blocking the highway.

"Three vehicles struck the semi, resulting in several minor injuries and one fatality," UHP said in a statement.
