CEDAR CITY — Community leaders in Cedar City recently celebrated the arrival of a new affordable and supportive housing complex.

Known as Asteri, meaning "of the stars," the three-story building features a total of 45 one- and two-bedroom apartments, along with a community room, fitness center and other amenities. It is located at 270 E. 900 North.

Asteri marks the third and most recent collaboration between Iron County Care and Share and the Vecino Group, a national affordable and supportive housing developer. The other two apartment facilities are the family-focused Libertad and the senior-focused Cairn Point, both of which are located nearby.

Although residents actually began living in Asteri earlier this year, Oct. 29 marked the official ribbon cutting.
