CEDAR CITY — An evacuation order has been ordered for all cabins and trailers in the upper basin and Shurtz Canyon, after a fire began in rugged terrain south of Cedar City.

According to Utah Fire Info, what has been dubbed the Graff Point Fire is at around 265 acres and growing in "steep and rugged terrain."

"The area is densely covered with dry heavy fuels" according to a Utah Fire Info update at 4 p.m Saturday, and crews are contending with strong winds, extremely low humidity and high temperatures.

The cause is currently under investigation, but Utah Fire Info says it was likely started by lightning.

Twenty structures are currently in danger, the update says, with air support on scene. Around 150 personnel are currently tasked with fighting the fire.

Road closures are in place from Shurtz Canyon Road to Right Hand and Kolob Mt. Road.
