THE SHALLOWS – Anyone who has ever spent time watching movies knows that the most dangerous time for a character is right after a climactic moment.

For example, in a war movie, a group of soldiers might be knocked to the ground by a sudden explosion. As they get back on their feet, one guy will stand tall and shout, "Don't worry, Sarge. I'm OK!"

Seconds later, that unfortunate soldier will inevitably be struck down by a sniper.

In scary movies, these "letting your guard down" moments are even more pronounced. A teenager might come home late at night to find that the lights aren't working in her apartment. As she nervously navigates the hallway, a cat suddenly runs in front of her.

This jump scare causes her (and the theater audience) to scream. The teenager then realizes that the blur in front of her is only her cat, Sprinkles. She smiles and says something like, "You nearly gave me a heart attack, Sprinkles."

But as she turns to find another light switch, she comes face-to-face with the villain.

Tale as old as time, right? And it plays out beautifully in this video:

This poor guy was so focused on the first crab that he had no idea a smaller, more stealthy crab was lurking in the mud. Like a zombie from a graveyard, the crab rises up and executes a perfect Achilles attack.

So, always remember to keep your head on a swivel. You let your guard down for one second and you're liable to get pinched by a crab.
