SOUTH JORDAN — Five juveniles were hospitalized Sunday morning after crashing through a fence onto Bangerter Highway near 10200 South.

The call came in around 2:30 a.m. according to Sgt. Mark Squire with the South Jordan Police Department. The car crossed all lanes of traffic, hitting cement barriers and causing a lot of debris.

The debris field left by the collision also caused two separate crashes involving single-occupant drivers who sustained minor injuries, according to Squire.

All five of the juveniles were transported to the hospital in critical condition. Four of them have since been released and the fifth is in stable condition.

The South Valley crash team is helping to investigate; speed is being looked at as a possible factor in the cause of the crash.
