SALT LAKE CITY — It's down to six.

Sorry, Utah Swarm, and better luck next time Utah Black Diamonds.

After more than half a million votes were cast, the Smith Entertainment Group has dwindled the options for Utah's NHL team from 20 to six.

Those six are:

  • Utah Blizzard
  • Utah Hockey Club
  • Utah Mammoth
  • Utah Outlaws
  • Utah Venom
  • Utah Yeti

SEG said that those six names received 60% of the 520,000 votes cast in the first round of voting.

Fans can vote at this link for the second round.

The voting began Thursday and will run through June 20.

This round will be different, though. Instead of choosing four potential names, fans can choose only one option.

So are you team Yeti or Mammoth? Outlaws or Blizzard? Time to decide.

In KSL.com's fan straw poll, Yeti, Outlaws, Mammoth and Blizzard were by far the four most popular of the 20 initial names. Venom and Hockey Club got considerably less support, finishing 10th and 11th in our poll.

Even though the team name options seem to be coming into view, SEG previously said the official name won't be announced until well into the inaugural season.

Utah's NHL franchise will don jerseys that display Utah across the front, and trademark applications have been filed for eight logos for "Utah Hockey Club." One of those logos appeared on the NHL app on Wednesday.
