HIGHLAND — A motorcyclist was critically injured after police say he collided with a school bus Tuesday afternoon.

Police responded to a report of a crash near 4800 West and Killarney Drive at about 2:30 p.m., according to Lone Peak police detective Dave Ventrano.

Ventrano said a school bus making a left-hand turn from 4800 West onto Killarney Drive when a motorcycle traveling north on 4800 West collided with the passenger side of the bus.

The motorcyclist, who was not identified, was transported to American Fork Hospital before he was transported to Utah Valley Hospital in critical condition. Children were on the bus at the time of the crash but none were injured, Ventrano said.

“The driver was obviously shaken up a little bit,” he added.

The crash remains under investigation.
