SYDNEY (AP) — Vice President Mike Pence says the United States will honor a refugee resettlement deal with Australia that President Donald Trump once dubbed "dumb." Pence told reporters on Saturday that he had reassured Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull that the U.S. will honor the agreement struck by the Obama administration — even if the U.S. doesn't "admire" the deal.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly says local police departments should work with federal authorities on deporting immigrants before they are released from jail and prison. Kelly says those that refuse face the alternative of having immigration agents look for targets in neighborhoods and courthouses.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Trump says in an AP interview he still wants to build the wall on the U.S.-Mexican border but doesn't know whether he'll sign a stop-gap spending bill if it doesn't pay for it. He also says young immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children won't be targeted for deportation.

PARIS (AP) — French far-left presidential candidate Jean-Luc Melenchon carried on his pre-planned final campaign event in Paris so as "not to interrupt the democratic process." While other candidates cancelled their last sprint of campaigning in light of Thursday's deadly gun attack on the Champs-Elysees avenue, the firebrand 65-year-old held a minute of silence for the police officer slain in the attack, attacked his rivals and enjoyed a cocktail.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Pacific Gas & Electric says on its official Twitter account that all power has been restored after an outage wiped out electricity for some 90,000 customers. The outage started around 9 a.m. Friday and affected the city's Financial District and other areas. The announcement saying power was restored was posted just after 5 p.m.
