CLEARFIELD — A man was arrested Monday after his son died from symptoms of abuse Saturday, police said.

Clint Corydon Nokes, 19, was booked into Davis County Jail on suspicion of child abuse homicide, according to Clearfield Assistant Chief Kelly Bennett.

Bennett said around 4:15 p.m. Friday police responded to a call at a home about a 7-week old infant that was unconscious and not breathing. When officers arrived, they performed CPR and the infant was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, where the infant died from his injuries early Saturday morning.

Police did not immediately release the details of the abuse.

Bennett said police arrested Nokes after an investigation and no other children were in the home. The mother of the baby is cooperating with the investigation and no charges have yet been filed against her, police said.
