THE BIG WHEEL — Who better to pull off an April Fool's Day prank than the Joker?
One-time Joker actor Jared Leto made a surprise visit to "Wheel of Fortune" on Monday. To the shock of the audience and the game contestants, the Oscar winner and the show's longtime co-host Vanna White entered the stage, arm in arm.
Acting as though this were business as usual, the announcer declared, "Ladies and gentlemen, here are the stars of our show — Jared Leto and Vanna White."
The surprise was a real treat for the three fortunate contestants at the wheel, especially the man in the middle.
Leto continued the role of host for just a moment, getting the contestants started on the first part of the game before the real host, Pat Sajak, took the stage.
Sajak has been hosting "Wheel of Fortune for more than 40 years, beginning his role as Wheel host in 1981. White joined the show in 1982.
Sajak announced in June 2023 that this season will be his final one on the show. Ryan Seacrest will be taking the helm after Sajak's retirement.
Sajak holds the record for the longest time hosting a single game show. After 35 years of hosting "Wheel of Fortune," Sajak surpassed the record held by "The Price Is Right" host Bob Barker.
