Homelessness isn't ideal for anyone, particularly those who are in their formative years. Despite the myth that many of Utah's homeless are single adults, the statistics show otherwise. In 2017, 35% of the homeless population were families or children, according to data collected by the Fourth Street Clinic. Many families with young children are homeless due to domestic violence and other issues, including mental illness. Because child development and learning in school are severely affected by homelessness, it's vital to help these children find relief.
