Stranger pays for meal at drive-thru

Shaunta Z.

"Just had a humbling experience in the McDonald's drive-thru. All this week, I have been super stressed and irritable. Our house is under construction with no end in sight (not really, but it feels like it). Work has been busy and hot. I'm trying to plan a wedding and honeymoon.

As I was waiting for my bunless burger, I started to get impatient because the lady in front of me was taking forever to pay. After waiting a few minutes, I pulled up to the window to pay and was told the lady in front of me put $20 towards my lunch and told the cashier to give me the change.

I didn't take her change. I used the money to pay for the guy's lunch behind me and some of the guy's lunch behind him (who was also a sergeant at the prison).

Thanks, mystery lady, for not only paying for my lunch but for reminding me the world doesn't revolve around me and I need to be more patient. Things will work out."
