Park City is one of the top-rated Utah destinations all year long, so why not stop by and take advantage of all this beautiful mountain town has to offer? There’s so much to do and see (think vibrant colors)!

Here are 10 things you should look into if you’re planning on spending time in Park City and the surrounding areas of Summit County this fall.

Get to know Park City

Even if you think you know Park City, don’t miss out on the fascinating history of what makes this place great, while maybe learning something new along the way. The Park City Museum should be your first stop. Step back in time and see how Park City was during its mining hey-day and how it transitioned into the world-class destination it is today. Historic Walking Tours of Main Street are also available along with scheduled private tours and you can always relive Park City’s Olympic legacy by visiting the Museums at Utah Olympic Park, too.

Find entertainment

If you love music, then you’re in luck, because Park City hosts many talented artists. Find yourself dancing the night away at O.P. Rockwell or one of the many other local venues in town. If you crave more entertainment, you can always check the upcoming performances at the legendary Egyptian Theatre, as well as the newer DeJoria Center just outside Park City. Be sure to check out some of the fall events including the Autumn Aloft hot air balloon festival and Howl-O-Ween on Main Street.

Have a taste of local flavors

One of the best ways to relax and enjoy the fruits of harvest time is by attending a no-frills and entertainment-friendly farmers market. The Park Silly Market checks all the boxes until Sept. 23, along with the Park City Farmers Market, which lasts until Oct. 25. Peruse the stands where you can taste local food while drinking in the finest art, culture and spirit of the area.

Park Silly Market is Sundays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on lower Main Street, and the Park City Farmers Market is Wednesdays from noon until 5 p.m. at its new location in the parking lots of Park City Mountain Village. Both markets offer fresh farm-to-table food and wares with a diverse lineup of vendors and entertainment.

Shop ‘til you drop

Getaways and staycations can all benefit from some well-timed retail therapy. If shopping is your hobby, come by the Redstone Shopping Center for high-end and eclectic finds, visit historic Main Street for boutique shops and galleries, or find a great deal at the Tanger Outlet Center. Once you’ve shopped and shopped some more, there are countless fine eateries to choose from to nurse you back to full-shopping capabilities. If the weather’s chilly, it’s a great way to stay warm while also filling out your fall wardrobe.

Take in the art

Offering the latest modern artists and more, the galleries in Park City will turn you into a true art appreciator. Main Street is home to several art galleries featuring both local and world-renowned artists. The Kimball Art Center hosts incredible year-round galleries, or you can absorb the culture for free by frequenting the Last Friday Gallery Stroll.

Outdoor it up

As the autumn weather cools down, there’s so much to enjoy about Park City’s scenic views. September and beyond offer some breathtaking views of mountain foliage and autumn colors, so consider a hike or bike ride.

Beginners and experts can find trails for their skill level for some autumn hiking, mountain biking and more. Or, if you prefer fishing or horseback riding, there’s something for everyone in the great outdoors of Park City year-round.

Ride the mountain

There are countless ways to enjoy mountain scenery, but until you come to Park City, you won’t know just how many. In Park City, you can bobsled, zip line or take a scenic lift up the mountain in the late summer and early autumn. Fast or slow, take in the views and marvel at the majestic mountains around you.

Take a ‘namastaycation’

As summer comes to a close and back-to-school season gets us all busy, perhaps what you need to help you loosen up is a little namastaycation. Yoga is invaluable for physical flexibility as well as strengthening and even helps you harbor less tension and stress. Park City has a thriving yoga community, so take advantage of the local yoga classes like Tadasana hot yoga, Park City Yoga Studio and the ever-popular The Shop Yoga Studio.

Eat, drink and be merry

Several restaurants in Park City are award-winning eateries, and some have even been featured on reality TV shows for their mouth-watering dishes. Take Silver Star Cafe, a popular meetup spot for brunchers and diners alike, where you can tuck into some fantastic wood-fired pizza or whatever else your heart (and palate) desires.

The nightlife in Park City doesn’t disappoint, so plan your next bar crawl on Main Street to get some good eats and drinks. Food ranges all over the map, but make sure to warm up after a day on the slopes at Riverhorse on Main for some upscale American fare.

Treat yourself

Play hard, relax even harder. There’s no better way to relax and take a vacation from your vacation (all that sightseeing can be exhausting, OK?) than by taking a spa day. Get a massage, a mani-pedi or just a facial to spruce yourself up before ending your visit.

Park City boasts plenty of spas, so choose one best suited to your needs to help you relax and follow your bliss. Come and experience the fall getaway of a lifetime in this beautiful mountain town!
