WEST JORDAN — One man is dead after a motorcycle crash in West Jordan, police confirmed.
The crash took place near 8550 S. Old Bingham Highway, police said. West Jordan police first reported the crash on Twitter just after 11 p.m. Saturday.
The man was later identified as Luciano Lopez, 46, according to West Jordan Police Sgt. Dan Roberts. Lopez was driving south on Old Bingham Highway and failed to negotiate a turn, Roberts said.
The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash, and no one else was injured, Roberts said. Police believe speed may also have been a factor in the crash, he said.
Bingham Highway was briefly closed from 8000 South to 8600 South following the crash, according to police.
