SALT LAKE CITY — Wednesday, the NBA announced the finalists and categories for the fan-voted NBA awards.
Along with traditional media-selected awards such as MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year are fan-voted NBA awards.
Fan-voted NBA awards include Dunk of the Year, Block of the Year, Clutch Shot of the Year, Assist of the Year, Handle of the Year and Best Style.
Donovan Mitchell’s putback dunk against the Lakers is a candidate for Dunk of the Year.
Former Ute Kyle Kuzma is a candidate for Best Style.
The Dunk of the Year, Block of the Year, Clutch Shot of the Year, Assist of the Year and Handle of the Year will be announced during the Western Conference finals on TNT.Each of the five winners will be a finalist for Play of the Year. The Play of the Year will be announced along with the Best Style Award at the "NBA Awards Presented by Kia" on TNT on June 25. The Play of the Year will also be chosen by fan voting.
Fans can vote for their favorite play on NBA.com or on social media. Fans can vote on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook by posting #AwardName and First/Last Name of the player they are voting for (e.g. #DunkOfTheYear Donovan Mitchell).
