SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz City Edition court and jerseys will return for the first home playoff game Saturday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Fans attending the game will take home their own City Edition “Take Note” playoff t-shirt.

For some teams, it has become a tradition to hand out free playoff game t-shirts. Each team comes up with their unique playoff slogans and we see everyone wearing them while watching the game on TV.

The t-shirts provide a form of unity within the fans that can lead to a fun and energetic environment for the playoffs. Getting one of these shirts is all a part of the playoff experience. Who wouldn’t want a free t-shirt, especially a cool shirt that lets your fellow peers know you attended an NBA playoff game?

The Jazz City Edition gear has been a hot commodity in Utah, selling out items for months at a time. The unique jerseys and sweatshirts are pricey items online, and have been listed on eBay for as high as $400.

During last year's playoff run, the Jazz handed out white “Take Note” shirts for both rounds the Jazz played in. This year, Zions Bank teamed up with the Jazz to provide fans with their own City Edition playoff shirt for the first home game of the series. There will be three different-colored shirts throughout the stadium: red, orange and yellow.

Fans will not get to pick their shirt color, though, as the arena will have certain sections for the three colors. The arena will be striped just like the jerseys. Here’s how the shirts will look throughout the stadium.

Zions Bank will also be providing fans with other experiences to get them excited for the playoff game. Activities will include an outdoor fan festival on the Vivint Arena plaza, an appearance from the famous NBA shoe designer Kickstradomis, banners throughout the arena, Jazz TV set on the plaza, face painters, balloon artists, DJ music and more.

The Jazz take on the Thunder at home for Game 3 of the first round series on Saturday at 8 p.m. Lexi Lewis is studying public relations at Utah Valley University. You can follow her on twitter @lex_lew1018.
