Holding the door for a stranger

“I injured myself recently on a family outing. It was a stupid move on my part, and I felt embarrassed for what it meant for me in terms of recovery. I had always thought I was a kind person for holding doors for those in wheelchairs or with crutches. However, as I’ve limped around the city, so many people have gone out of their way to hold doors for me, offer help and express empathy. Total strangers. It makes me proud and humbled to witness firsthand the kindness and empathy of everyday Utahns. Thank you for showing your class!”
Rewarding good behavior

“An elderly gentleman came up to my children and I (single mom of four) at the store. He said he was impressed watching us and was proud of my children’s behavior. He then asked my permission and handed each of them $1 for a snack. It was equally as rewarding for my children as it was for me to hear his kind words.”
Offering a dance partner

“Tomorrow at a local senior living center, there will be a dance especially for a little lady that is on hospice and is just looking for someone to ballroom dance with her. Several young adults with dance experience will be there to dance with her and the others of the facility.”
